Let’s be honest: last season, kickers were complete bench warmers. According to our internal analytics, kickers accounted for exactly 0.0% of all optimal team trios.
They were dead weight, screen clutter, and a running joke in the fantasy community.
We took that personally.Instead of scrapping the position entirely, we gave special teams a massive tactical promotion.
Here is how kicker scoring works moving forward:
-Standard Made Field Goal: 3 points (The classic base rate)
-40 – 49 Yard Bonus: +1 Extra Point (4 pts total)
- 50+ Yard Bonus: +2 Extra Points (5 pts total)
- Game-Winning Kick Bonus: +2 Extra Points (Awarded for any field goal made in the final 2 minutes of the 4th quarter or overtime that seals the game)
Why this changes the meta: If Dicker the Kicker nails a 57-yard walk-off game-winner as time expires, that single swing now nets you 7 total points. Pair that with the Robo Leg Power-Up in your weekly rotation, and your kicker isn't just viable, they're a genuine game-changer!
